I found this WWII V-mail letter (see wiki) in an a I found this WWII V-mail letter (see wiki) in an attic of a house that was being emptied out. The infantryman had mailed the letter to some gals in Oakland. The address downtown is now a commercial area. 

Luckily there is someone with his name living locally...I'm going to gamble and mail it to him. Or should I try to find family related to the addressee?

Either way finding this miniaturized letter, which they photographed to minimize mail bag transportation, is a lovely reminder of what so many have given up for freedom in America. 

Today is a day to reflect how lucky we have been to live in a democracy. Let freedom reign AND ring!
